According to the European Union’s core regulation, the General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) 2001/95/EC, all products sold in the EU market must meet high safety standards. Starting December 13, 2024, the new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will replace the existing GPSD, introducing stricter product safety requirements, especially for manufacturers outside the EU. Under the GPSR, products sold to the EU will be required to provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and test reports.

What is an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)?

What is an LFGB Report?
The LFGB (German Food and Feed Code) has been in effect since September 2005 and is Germany’s most important regulation for food hygiene management. It requires that all food and food-contact materials must comply with relevant regulations and undergo testing to obtain an LFGB test report, proving that the product does not contain harmful chemicals. Although the LFGB standard is a German regulation, it is highly recognized throughout Europe. Many EU countries, especially those with strict requirements for food contact materials, often prefer LFGB certification reports. Therefore, LFGB certification is an ideal choice for food-grade products being exported to the EU.
